Web Design Review from Alex Choi

We brought this agency in as a consultant during a major redesign initiative, and their impact was immediate. They provided clear best-practice guidance across UX, conversion strategy, and design systems helping us think beyond aesthetics and focus on structure, clarity, and performance. What stood out most was their ability to balance strategic insight with practical execution. They didn't just point out what could be improved; they offered thoughtful, actionable solutions.Throughout the process, they were collaborative, responsive, and consistently available to support our internal team. Whether it was refining layout hierarchy, improving user flows, or pressure-testing creative direction, they were a steady partner from start to finish. If you're looking for a team that combines strong design instincts with conversion-minded thinking and a consultative approach, Id highly recommend them.

Working with Krasamo was too easy from the intake process to the design to the delivery. I never expected that the process of creating a mobile app could be this stress-free. I tried a few other companies but Krasamo pricing for the value provided was amazing. I am looking forward to working with them on web design next!

I use Accessibility Checker on all of my web development projects. It’s very easy to use, and I can train my clients to use it as well. The support team is responsive and knowledgeable, and they always provide timely help. This is the only team I trust for expert accessibility advice.

If you really take accessibility seriously, you'll probably be disappointed with this agency. To me, it seems more like a paid stamp than a real push for true accessibility.Equalize Digital regularly publishes accessibility reviews of WordPress products, which could be a useful guide in principle. In my view, the problem is that such posts are not updated even when significant improvements to the products have been pointed out several times. This gives me the impression that outdated information is being deliberately used to continue advertising their own services. Consequently, the apparent need to commission Equalize Digital for support evaporates when you consult other experts who base their arguments on current information. As a person with a disability who is affected by barriers, I find this particularly problematic. It gives me the feeling that Equalize Digital is less concerned with actual accessibility and more with winning new customers. For me personally, this is a reason to keep away from such a company.

Top-notch company to work with. We are making a push to improve the accessibility of our website WingSwept.com and this tools has been a life saver: the automated fixes streamlined many of the big errors. Also when we discovered some conflicts with other website plugins, their dev team quickly provided a solution since they have experience working with tons of website builder platforms and plugins. Any time I ask a question I get an immediate email reply, and have even hopped on a couple last minute calls to share my screen and get further help from their dev team. One last point of praise is how actively they maintain the plugin. We had an issue with a global fix based on the WordPress theme using slightly different code than others and they immediately created a patch to fix the issue. Can't recommend them enough!

7 FAQs About Web Development Companies in Texas

How much do Texas web development services cost?

On average, Texas web development services cost from $3,000 to $15,000. ECommerce platforms range from $10,000 to $40,000, while custom web applications can reach $40,000 to $120,000 or more.

The average cost for a professional business site is between $5,000 and $15,000. This covers custom design, development, mobile responsiveness, and basic SEO. Larger, more complex projects push well beyond this range.

Overall, rates vary by market. Austin is the priciest city for web development services in Texas, averaging $111/hour, with Houston and Dallas following closely, at $103 and $96 per hour, respectively.

A small business website typically runs five to eight pages: homepage, services, about, blog, and contact. Through a local agency, that build can cost between $3,000 and $10,000. Annual maintenance, security updates, and hosting add $600 to $2,500 per year after launch.

What's included in a standard package from Texas web developers?

Texas web developers’ standard packages cover discovery, design, development, testing, and post-launch support

  • Discovery: goals, audience, competitor review, technical requirements
  • Design: wireframes and visual design, with a set number of free revision rounds
  • Development: front-end build, CMS setup, integrations (CRM, payments, booking)
  • Content placement: formatting of copy and images; producing the content assets is usually billed separately
  • Testing: cross-browser checks, mobile responsiveness, load-speed review
  • Post-launch support: a 30 to 90 day bug-fix window before maintenance shifts to a separate contract

What do web development companies in Texas charge that most clients don't expect?

SEO and content creation are the two most underestimated costs. A fast, well-coded site with no optimization and no real content simply won't rank.

Other common add-ons include:

  • Domain renewal: $10 to $15 per year
  • Hosting: $5 to $50 per month for shared hosting, up to $500 per month for dedicated hosting
  • Maintenance: $50 to $150 per month for basic plans, $100 to $500 per month for eCommerce sites
  • Third-party licenses: Premium themes, plugins, or stock assets billed per item
  • Revisions: Most contracts cap free revisions before extra charges apply

How do I know whether I need a redesign or a completely new website?

You need a rebuild when the system itself limits functionality, not just when the design looks dated.

Rebuild if

  • Your CMS can't support what you need
  • The codebase is outdated or hard to maintain
  • Performance issues persist after optimization
  • Integrations keep breaking
  • Security updates are no longer reliable

Redesign is enough if

  • The backend is stable
  • Only the UI/UX needs work
  • Content is already well organized
  • No new functionality is required

What are the biggest red flags when evaluating web development companies in Texas?

Unclear process and vague ownership terms are the two biggest warning signs. Also watch for:

  • No staging environment before launch
  • No mention of version control (Git)
  • No defined QA or testing process
  • Ambiguous ownership of source code or CMS access
  • No discussion of Core Web Vitals or performance targets
  • "TBD" on integrations in the proposal
  • No post-launch support plan in writing
  • A quote well below every other bid you've collected

Will I be able to manage the website myself after launch?

Yes, if the Texas web development company you’re working with has set up the CMS properly and has provided training. Most Texas web developers build the sites to be easily managed by a non-technical team, including:

  • CMS access with role-based permissions
  • Page templates that prevent layout breakage
  • A training session for your team
  • Written documentation for content updates
  • Simple, no-code editing tools

Technical changes, such as new integrations, backend logic, and system upgrades, will still need developer support

Can the project go over budget after I've already approved the quote?

Yes, the project can go over budget, and this is common on custom builds. Typical reasons for that include:

  • New features added mid-project
  • Underestimated integration complexity
  • Additional design revisions
  • Content migration taking longer than expected
  • Stakeholder feedback extending the timeline
