Walgreens is one of the biggest pharmacy chains in North America, and their mobile app is designed to be a one-stop health destination for their customers. A robust suite of health features and a slick, modern design make the Walgreens app indispensable for mobile users.
Users with a Walgreens account can refill their prescriptions by scanning an Rx label -- a major improvement over calling in for a refill, or actually having to go into the pharmacy carrying a prescription. The Prescriptions & Health section of the app also includes Rx management options, a pill reminder feature, and the ability to manage contact lenses. Pharmacy chat even allows the user to have secure conversations with a pharmacist. The Live Doctor Consultation feature gives users the option to pay a small fee to have a live video call with a doctor without having to leave their home.
The app also integrates full ecommerce functionality, allowing users to shop for products online and find products in a local store. Product navigation is fairly intuitive, and managed through a simple vertically-stacked text menu. Product pages are fully populated with product images, reviews, product information, and any related deals or discounts.
The Walgreens app also integrates with a user’s Facebook or Instagram account and photo albums so that they can print photos and photo cards from those platforms.
From a design perspective, the Walgreens app is bright, friendly, and approachable. It makes good use of iconography and imagery to make using the app feel intuitive and visual for all users.
Walgreens is an user-friendly app design in the medical & pharmacy industry.
