RKL CPA services really went down the drain for the last couple of years. Jim needs to either retire or let someone else take care of his position. When he obviously knows something, he would reply like he doesn't. It's almost like he is acting like a 16 year working at Mc Donalds, filling up time for a PayCheck and doing everything he can not get involved in any project. I can't believe his title is a partner since he really doesn't act like he is doing anything to improve company revenues. Multiple mistakes from different associates; they can't even hold on to their commitment to calling the client on time. Associates unable to look at a paper and type the information into the computer without making spelling mistakes. Just overall, I completely lost my trust in them to handle something as crucial as taxes.

There are many accounting companies out there, and there is only one Treewalk. We went through four different accounting companies before finding Treewalk. And they are by far the best we ever had. They have multiple offices and addresses posted online. One time I drove to Sherwood Park, and it was not the right place. Then I had to email to confirm which address they were at. They did my taxes during tax season, and it was fine. But I asked to set an appointment to discuss my RDSP. The receptionist told me on two separate occasions that they'd get ahold of me after tax season. I still have yet to hear from them. When I'd go into the office it seemed disorganized, I can understand Tax Season is very busy and a lot of paperwork but keep in mind this is confidential information, and paperwork should be left all over the place where everyone can see.

My appointment was cancelled at the exact time it was supposed to start, with no call, just an email from the accountant Sunith Varkey at the appointment time saying « Hi MaryApologies, we are unable to take on new tax filing requests at this stage of tax season.The filing deadline is in 2 days. »A complete lack of respect for clients’ time.There was also zero warning of cancellation from the person who scheduled the appointment. This is even more frustrating considering I wasn’t asking for a full service, just a bit of guidance on a specific issue. Sunith did not even consider to take time to know why I was reaching out.With an important deadline just two days away, this level of unprofessionalism is shocking. If you value your time and expect basic professionalism, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

We tried their services for few months and found them to be very unprofessional and unethical. There is no transparency in billing. Initially they will do marketing gimmicks and come up with amazing pricing structure which is hard to believe and then once you enter into contract, they will show the true pricing which is very expensive. I couldn't be more thankful for Kevin and his team. We had to move to a CPA a few years ago when we created our Trust, and it was a pulling teeth type scenario each year to complete our taxes. Moving to Kevin this year was the best financial decision we have ever made, and our checking account is far happier. They combed through our last CPA's submissions, found errors, and highlighted how to improve. Thanks to their due diligence and thoughtful approach, we received the most significant refund we have ever had, and still paid less than we did last year for tax preparation. If you use anyone else in the desert, I would rethink that decision and go with Kevin and his team. You won't regret it! A++++
