Unprofessional, Mentally Draining, and Disrespectful Work Culture My overall experience with this company was extremely toxic. During my short tenure, I observed several deeply unprofessional practices that left a lasting negative impact on me: • Salaries were often delayed, without prior communication or explanation. • There were unexplained deductions in monthly salary, and any attempts to raise concerns were either ignored or dismissed by HR. • The HR department was shockingly rude. I personally witnessed employees being humiliated or emotionally broken when they decided to resign — some even left in tears. • No proper Full and Final Settlement (FNF) or professional offboarding process was followed. It’s like once you resign, you’re treated as if you never existed. • Even after resignation, the company continued to send intimidating and threatening emails and begging for small amount of money like 20k, showing a complete lack of empathy — especially towards people who were already in a tough personal or financial situation. If you’re considering joining, please rethink carefully. Make sure everything is documented in writing — verbal promises mean nothing here. A company’s real face shows not when you join, but when you try to leave. And unfortunately, this one shows zero professionalism, zero compassion, and zero respect for employees.

CodeVA is a small nonprofit computer science education advocacy and training organization that punches above its weight in terms of its impact. But for our first three years, our web presence looked positively punch drunk. A lack of staff time and resources meant our website - a necessary function for us for everything from public messaging and awareness to teacher training registration to kid summer camp registration - looked like this computer science education needed to go back to school. As much as we wanted to take a pause to make our digital front face to the world look pretty and professional, we simply could not - we were busy changing state laws, training thousands of teachers and giving thousands of students their first positive exposure to computer science and coding. COLAB literally rescued us from our own success. They arrived at the right time. Their founder Eddie O'Leary took a personal interest in CodeVA, and his staff did the same. They worked closely with our staff. CodeVA is a lifelong learning organization, and COLAB took that priority to heart when CodeVA asked if we could assign our VCU School of Engineering intern as the project manager so he could gain important career experience working as the client on a project like this one. What CodeVA got was an attractive and inviting website that deftly navigates between the three key functions of CodeVA, allowing us to address our multiple unique audiences - teachers/school divisions, parents/children, and state policymakers/corporate leadership. I recently had an experience back in 2022 with Apadmi that I feel compelled to share and have debated whether i should post this. As a professional eagerly looking forward to an interview with Apadmi, I was unfortunately met with a series of disappointments. Firstly, the structured process I was initially promised for the interview was not adhered to. This lack of organisation not only threw me off but also made it challenging to present myself effectively and forced to do a presentation in less than 24 hours notice. More concerning, however, was my interaction with the Managing Director, not sure if he is still there. I found his demeanour not just unprofessional but outright rude. This was disheartening, especially coming from a leadership figure in a reputable company. I've actually never been so humiliated in the professional environment. It's important for companies to remember that interviews are a two-way process. They are not just about evaluating candidates, but also about demonstrating the company's values and culture. Unfortunately, my experience with Apadmi fell short of the professional standards one would expect, however i would say Marcus, one of the board members was a delight in my first stage. I hope my feedback is taken constructively, as it is intended to highlight areas where there is significant room for improvement in how Apadmi manages its recruitment process and senior staff interactions.
