Mariager Sydesalt

This beautiful packaging of sea salts were designed by Wunsch for Mariager Sydesaltz. They also developed the entire corporate identity and communication for this brand.

This is a great example of how simple products -- like salt -- can be beautifully branded and packaged. To understand all the design choices, we should look at the history and background of the brand. This salt is seethed by hand using Middle Age methods, so the logo has some inspiration from that period. It's a very clever choice that reinforces the product.

The main color is black because in the process of preparing the salt, one step requires it be poured into black iron pans and the heated over open flames. In terms of color, it’s in perfect correlation.
