UI/UX Design Review from John Miller

We had the pleasure of working with Slide UX on a recent project requiring deep user engagement and thoughtful design. Much of this work was particularly tricky, as the workflows were for expert users in a complex system, and the focus was ensuring users can do their work quickly and with a high degree of accuracy.Their team expertly helped us conduct workshops to gather insights from end users, identifying pain points and refining complex requirements. Their ability to translate these discussions into clear, actionable designs and wireframes was invaluable, ensuring that the final deliverables were both highly usable and aligned with our needs.Beyond their technical expertise, Slide UX consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism and responsiveness. They collaborated seamlessly with our team for about a year, maintained clear communication throughout the process, and consistently delivered high-quality work on schedule. Their keen eye for detail and ability to create a set of cohesive design elements across our larger application suite further strengthened the outcome. We highly recommend them to any organization looking for smart, user-focused design solutions.

UI/UX Design Review from Dane Koch

As a UX designer at SolarWinds, I had the opportunity to work closely with the team at SlideUX during the redesign of our company website, and I couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism and expertise. From the outset, their team demonstrated a clear understanding of our goals, offering valuable insights tailored to our business needs and our users' expectations. They consistently delivered high-quality work, providing detailed audits, wireframes, mockups, and site maps aligned perfectly with our vision. The professionalism and attention to detail were evident at every stage, making the entire process seamless and efficient. One of the biggest challenges we faced during the project was our evolving company strategy, which often led to shifting priorities and new direction mid-project. Despite these hurdles, SlideUX was incredibly adaptable. Their team not only met each new challenge with a solution-oriented mindset but also communicated proactively with our internal team to ensure that every change was integrated smoothly into the design. Whether it was refining the user experience for a newly prioritized feature or adjusting the visual language to better reflect our updated branding, SlideUX's ability to pivot while maintaining design integrity was invaluable.Throughout the process, SlideUX didn't just design for us they also took the time to consult with our internal UX team, offering mentorship and sharing best practices. This collaboration helped strengthen our own design capabilities and ensured we were aligned with modern UX standards. The final product is a sleek, modern website with a much-improved user journey that is intuitive, engaging, and aligned with our broader business goals. Thanks to SlideUX, we now have a user experience that not only looks great but also performs seamlessly, setting a strong foundation for future growth.

S Mac's Review Sourced from Google

UPDATE: After ATX responded to this review, i wanted again state that I am the co-owner of the logistics business. For minor projects such website re-design, there is only 1 person of contact. Although I was not Daniel's designated point of contact for this project, I was actively engaged in the decision-making process and included in all correspondence. I am also going to address the claim ATX messaging prior to the start of the meeting which is false. I have added photos with time stamps of the messages and calls. Daniel (ATX) texted AFTER the start of the 10am meeting to say he would be "a few minutes late" and finally called at 11:04. As you can see, he takes zero accountability for his actions. If you have to be dishonest to defend your argument, you should consider changing your unethical business practices.Initial review: We hired this company for a website development redesign. As co-owner of the company, I felt inclined to share my experience to warn others who may be considering using this company. We had a website prior to seeking services but wanted to use a company who had a hands on approach and worked closely with its customers to execute our ideas and vision for the site. We had a consultation with Daniel and explained in detail what we were looking to accomplish with him redesigning the site. We felt confident that he could deliver but that was far from what transpired. We paid $1,000 upfront. There were grammatical errors and misspellings on the renderings. We spent countless hours piecing the website together and doing the very thing that he was paid to do. When we submitted revision requests, they were disregarded. We sent examples of photos that we liked due to him using irrelevant photos for the line of work that we offer. He disregard and never made the changes after we asked in writing several times. When we requested motion photos, he used photos from our existing site instead of redesigning the site with new ideas. This showed his lack of effort and creativity. We scheduled a call for the owner of our company to discuss the many frustrations we were having with Daniel. Daniel texted the owner AFTER the owner had been waiting for him to show for the call to tell him that he would be a "few minutes" late. The owner waited over an hour for Daniel before Daniel called. By this time, the owner could not take the call as he was off to his next meeting. There was correspondence of approximately 40 emails and a detailed Google doc to Daniel in the development stages to try to make this work as we had already paid him $1,000. He was incompetent and took zero accountability for his actions. He had an excuse for every unresolved issue. We decided to seek other avenues to redesign the site. No changes has been made to our site. It looks the exact same as it did before we found this company and he has pocketed $1,000 of money he did not earn.

Daniel and his team are awesome! I reached out to ATX web designs for a bid on redesigning my website and helping with some SEO issues. I received multiple quotes from different companies but what stuck out for me aside from the competitive pricing was the attention to detail and preparation that was made when presenting the bid. I opted to go with Daniel and his team and am happy I did. They were super patient with me and were able to accommodate all my requests and edits. 10/10 would recommend!

Our website was in desperate need of an overhaul. I received proposals from a few companies, but felt the most comfortable with ATX. Daniel & team went above and beyond to work within our budget without sacrificing quality. They spent as much time as we needed to make adjustments along the way. The end result was a fresh site that functions properly and showcases our brand. We cannot thank ATX Web Designs enough!

7 Frequently Asked Questions About Austin Web Design Services

How much does web design cost in Austin?

Web design in Austin usually costs $1,500 to $12,000 for most small business websites, while complex custom or eCommerce projects can reach $15,000 to $40,000+.

Austin sits on the higher end of Texas web design pricing, with local agencies averaging around $111 per hour because of strong demand from the city’s tech market.

  • A simple template-based website typically costs $1,500 to $3,500
  • A custom small business website usually costs $6,000 to $12,000
  • A more advanced business website can cost $8,000 to $13,000+
  • An eCommerce or complex website starts around $15,000 and can exceed $40,000

Businesses should also budget for ongoing costs after launch:

  • Hosting can cost $3 to $100+ per month
  • SSL certificates can cost $50 to $300 per year
  • Website maintenance commonly ranges from $500 to $2,500 per month

The final price depends on the number of pages, design complexity, SEO, copywriting, eCommerce features, integrations, and the designer’s experience.

The cheapest quote is rarely the safest choice, especially in Austin, where strong portfolio work and clear deliverables matter more than the lowest upfront price.

How long does it take to design a website with a web design company in Austin?

A website with an Austin web design company can take 1 to 12 weeks for a template-based site, while custom and eCommerce projects usually take longer.

The timeline depends on the number of pages, content readiness, revisions, approvals, integrations, and custom features. A reliable agency should outline the full timeline before the project starts, including design, development, testing, and launch.

What are the red flags when evaluating an Austin web design agency?

The clearest red flag when evaluating an Austin web design agency is vagueness about ownership, process, or price.

If a team cannot tell you plainly who owns the code and content after launch, how many revision rounds are included, or what happens when the project runs long, you are looking at future disputes.

Watch for these warning signs:

  • No clear contract on code and CMS ownership
  • A portfolio with no live links
  • Vague or "we'll figure it out later" pricing
  • Design with no discovery phase
  • Pressure to sign fast

If two or more of these show up, keep looking. The right partner is transparent before you have paid a cent.

What is the difference between web development and a web design agency in Austin?

Web design covers how a site looks and feels, while web development covers how it is built and functions, and full-service Austin web design services usually include both.

Before hiring, confirm whether the same team handles design, development, testing, and launch, or whether you will need separate specialists.

AreaWeb designWeb development
Main focusLook, feel, layout, and user experienceCode, functionality, performance, and integrations
Work involvedColors, typography, page layout, wireframes, UX, mobile designFront-end code, back-end systems, forms, databases, checkout, CMS setup
GoalMake the site clear, attractive, and easy to useMake the site fast, secure, responsive, and functional
Risk if missingThe site may work but feel confusing or genericThe site may look good but load poorly or fail technically
Best forBranding, user experience, conversion flow, visual directionCustom features, technical setup, eCommerce, integrations

Do Austin web design agencies also handle SEO or ongoing marketing?

Many Austin web design agencies offer SEO and ongoing marketing, but the depth of that service varies widely, so you should never assume it is included.

Some bake basic on-page SEO into every build, such as clean code, fast load times, and proper heading structure. Others treat SEO and marketing as separate retainers you pay for after launch. This matters because a beautiful site that no one can find is a wasted investment.

Ask upfront whether search visibility is part of the build or an add-on, and get the answer in writing, since the strongest Austin web design services treat findability as part of the design brief rather than an afterthought.

What support should I expect from a website design company in Austin after launch?

A dependable website design company in Austin should offer a clear post-launch support window, usually 30 to 90 days of free bug fixes, plus an optional maintenance plan. Support often includes security updates, plugin updates, backups, and small content changes.

Do not assume support is free forever. Ask what is included after launch, what maintenance costs are, and how fast they respond when something breaks.

A website design company in Austin should define these terms before you sign, so you are not left guessing once the site goes live.

What happens if the finished site doesn't perform the way I expected?

If the finished site underperforms, your protection depends on what the contract says. A strong agreement should define deliverables, revision rounds, acceptance criteria, and what happens if the work misses the agreed scope.

Reputable web designers in Austin set measurable expectations early, such as page speed, mobile responsiveness, browser compatibility, and required features. That makes performance easier to judge instead of turning it into a subjective disagreement.

If your goal is more leads or sales, remember that no honest agency can guarantee revenue. What they can guarantee is a site that meets the technical, design, and functional standards set out in the contract.
