Corte Vetusto is an award-winning brand of artisanal mezcal. Design agency Stranger & Stranger created the packaging for the alcohol company, reinforcing the historic traditional quality of this Oaxacan spirit, whose recipe has been passed down from generation to generation. The packaging design of the Corte Vetusto mezcal bottles accurately represent this brand identity.
The bottles are a stunning black color, immediately giving off a classic vibe inspired by heritage and history. The bottles all feature a blue and white label covering the neck. These labels have elaborate patterns designed on them, symbolizing the history of the brand.
The blue and white colors used provide an excellent contrast while also complementing each other, making for a visually attractive design. The blue and white label also provides an excellent contrast to the dark black bottle. The label contains the brand logo, as well as intricate and delicate patterns and designs interwoven together to create a seamless look.
The bottles all also feature a second, larger label covering the body of the bottle. Depending on the flavor of the mezcal, these labels are either white, beige, or dark brown. Each of these labels features the brand logo, in an attractive combination of deep brown and dark gold.
The logo is balanced out well with the rest of the text, ensuring that attention isn’t taken away from the information provided. The text used on the label is in varying sizes, but in the color black, providing an excellent aesthetic experience against the black bottle.
The packaging label uses shapes and spaces very effectively, giving a symbiotic and aligned feel to the labels. The colors used speak to the brand personality, while creating a visually attractive contrast.
Overall, the packaging of the Corte Vetusto mezcal bottles follows a clear strategy, uses colors effectively, and engages the audience.
