Peak is a brain training app designed to help users maximize their brain power in order to improve memory, attention, problem solving, mental agility, language, coordination, creativity and emotion control.
The app takes the user through a series of questions about what skills they’re interested in learning, so that the experience can be more customized to their goals. The user then completes a series of initial games to establish a baseline in each category. At the beginning of each game, interactive instructions appear to walk the user through how to play. Games are fun, dynamic, and challenging. Haptic feedback in the form of a buzz occurs when a user gets an answer incorrect. At the end of each game a score is awarded and the user is shown their position as contextualized by other players at their same rank.
The app allows users to closely monitor and track their progress as they continue to use the app. A coach feature is available for users who wish for guidance in honing in on a specific skill. Different settings allow users to play games even when they’re short on time.
The design of the app is highly sophisticated and moves users swiftly from one game to the next. The flat aesthetic feels modern and fresh. Background colors change depending on which area of the app the user is interacting with -- each color designating a specific area of training. Everything about the app is intuitive and thoughtfully designed for an exceptional user experience.
