We contacted the Third-Dimension to perform WEB design for a new service, which includes a WEB application and a browser extension. The work was divided into several stages, which is very convenient and allows you to follow the order of work. At the first stage, the Third-Dimension collected information about the project and wishes regarding the design. At the second stage, the Third-Dimension assessed existing applications and provided references (sketches) of the design. After choosing a direction, the designer provided draft page designs and app designs for approval. Once agreed upon, the final design was implemented and several rounds of revisions were made. I would like to note the Third-Dimension ability not just to "do the job and forget", but to immerse itself in the area and problems that the project solves. In the process of work, in addition to the design, some functions that were proposed by the Third-Dimension team were also adjusted or added. All deadlines and wishes were respected. We've used Good Code in the past and had good satisfaction with the work. In this project, unfortunately we had a bad experience. The situation: 1. We had a front end project that we wanted to get done externally because our internal devs were focused on other projects 2. The project was fully taped out, high fidelity designs were complete, and the back end was finished prior 3. GoodCode quoted 60 hours to complete the work, terms were agreed to and the project was scheduled 4. The developer who was assigned was a new hire to GoodCode which gave some pause, but we had good experiences prior so we assumed it would be the same 5. There were no updates sent to us as the project progressed 6. Project went over the 60 hours with no notice until right before delivery that it exceeded the amount by 20+ hours 7. The developer opened a 5,156 line PR with our team for delivery 8. When we asked to break up the PR for easier review, was told we would have to pay for the hours to do so 9. We refused to pay more given the project had already significantly exceeded the estimate We tried to appeal that this service was unacceptable given how much we were paying per hour for Good Code expertise. They refused. While they were responsive and within a reasonable time frame of delivery, I was very disappointed in how this project turned out.
