Question 1

What is a NetSuite Consultant?

Accepted Answer

A NetSuite consultant is a consultant who specializes in implementing, customizing, and optimizing the NetSuite cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. They guide businesses and help them leverage NetSuite's capabilities to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and drive growth.

NetSuite is one of the most prominent cloud-based ERP software used by 38,000 businesses around the world, including top organizations and brands. However, its implementation can be complex, which is why hiring a NetSuite consulting company can help minimize disruptions and maximize your investment.

Businesses that want to use NetSuite often face challenges that NetSuite consulting companies are expert in solving:

Lack of expertise in implementing and customizing complex NetSuite features to meet business needs
Difficulty in adapting to new business processes and workflows
Inability to migrate data from existing systems to NetSuite
Difficulty tackling integration complexities with other systems like CRM or e-commerce platforms
Training employees to use NetSuite effectively, especially if they're resistant to change
Ensuring the software is secure from cyberattacks

The impact of the cloud on ERP and technology has been nothing short of revolutionary. The global market is set to nearly double in size soaring from $626 billion in 2023 to a projected $1,266 billion by 2028, driven by an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15%. Businesses often prefer cloud-based ERP solutions for their unmatched scalability, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and ability to access and collaborate from anywhere.

Success story

Many businesses are turning to NetSuite to improve their efficiency. Learning from the success stories of others can help you better understand how NetSuite consultants will help you achieve your goals.

Challenge: Jungle Jim's, a popular specialty supermarket, was experiencing inefficiency and potential inaccuracies from using multiple accounting systems, like Quickbooks, Traverse system, and Access databases. So, the company wanted a consolidated finance and operations system that would automate processes and provide accurate, timely financial reports.
Solution: The company partnered with Terillium, whose NetSuite consultants developed a comprehensive implementation plan. The initial phase focused on streamlining its finance operations, aiming to establish a modern platform for future growth and a central hub for data and reporting.
Results: Thanks to Terillium's successful NetSuite implementation, Jungle Jim’s achieved greater accuracy and efficiency by consolidating its accounting systems and eliminating the need for manual tasks. The centralized database provided a single source of truth for financial information, enabling more effective reporting and decision-making. Inspired by these results, Jungle Jim's soon expanded NetSuite's use to include inventory management and operations.

Question 2

What do NetSuite consultants do?

Accepted Answer

NetSuite consultants provide specialized expertise to help businesses set up, tweak, and get the most out of the NetSuite ERP software. Think of them as your go-to experts for making NetSuite work perfectly for your company. They bring in-depth knowledge on implementing software items and suggest a potential customized strategy.

Their key roles and services include:

Consulting

NetSuite implementation
They will conduct and oversee the installation and configuration of NetSuite to match the client's specific requirements. They’ll make sure it's all ready to go before rolling out the new processes to your employees.
Customization
NetSuite consulting companies will develop custom solutions, integrations, and workflows to tailor the software to the client's unique needs.
Employee training
NetSuite consultants will handle the training to ensure your company can reduce errors, improve its efficiency, and boost overall productivity. Employee training is a crucial aspect of any NetSuite implementation so employees can adopt the new system, use it effectively, and reap its benefits.
Support and maintenance
NetSuite consultants offer ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimization services so you can have smooth workflows and maximize the benefits of the software.

These issues were preventing ATOM's ability to expand its customer base and ensure accurate financial operations.
Solution: Annexa provided a comprehensive NetSuite solution to ATOM, including planning, implementation, and ongoing support. The implementation focused on enhancing core accounting features, integrating MyOsh's external reporting, and developing a custom project tracker tool to automate project data import, which offered clear insights into project spending and financial flows.

Question 5

How do I choose the best NetSuite consulting company for my business?

Accepted Answer

Choosing the right NetSuite consulting company is key to a successful NetSuite implementation. Find a consulting company that aligns with your needs and budget and has a proven capability to deliver exceptional results.

Follow these tips to choose the right partner:

Define your needs
Be clear about your goals and understand your business challenges, so you can find a NetSuite consultant who can help you achieve success.
Begin your search
Conduct thorough research to identify potential NetSuite consulting companies. Search on Google, use trusted agency directories like DesignRush, or ask your peers for recommendations. Then, compile a list of potential consultants.
Shortlist potential candidates
Once you've compiled a list of potential candidates, it's time to narrow down your options and reach out to them. A well-prepared request for proposal (RFP) will help you assess their suitability to work on your project.
Check their credentials
Verify the credentials and qualifications of NetSuite consultants to ensure that they have the necessary expertise to successfully implement and manage your NetSuite system. Look for certifications like NetSuite SuiteFoundation, SuiteAnalytics, and SuiteCloud Developer.
Talk to potential consultants
Talk to your shortlisted companies after receiving their proposals. Find out if they understand your business needs, ask how they plan to implement NetSuite, and how good they are at communicating with clients.
Assess their experience and portfolio
Ask the NetSuite consulting agencies to provide examples of their previous projects. Check if they have worked with businesses like yours. It’s also helpful to your decision-making to see some case studies demonstrating how they helped other companies.
Consider pricing and payment terms
Don't hesitate to discuss their pricing, how you'll pay, and any extra costs your project may incur. Then see if their price aligns with your budget.
Check their project management capabilities
When evaluating NetSuite consultants, understand their methodologies, tools, and processes for planning, executing, and monitoring projects. Also, determine their ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Check for ongoing support
Inquire about the level of ongoing support and maintenance services they offer after the initial implementation. This is important for making your NetSuite investment a success in the long term.
Check for customer reviews and feedback
Finally, check the NetSuite consultans’ track record. Look for online reviews and testimonials to see what other customers think of the consulting company. This can provide valuable insights into their reputation, quality of service, and customer satisfaction.
