During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Brazilian football fans wanted to support their national team by wearing the official jersey. However, the high cost of the jerseys (R$350) was a significant barrier, especially given the inflation Brazilians were facing at the time. FCB offered a 50% cashback on jersey purchases from Nike's eCommerce site in exchange for fans customizing the jersey with Flash's brand name and sharing it on social media. This campaign turned fans into brand sponsors and significantly boosted Flash's visibility, getting more than 5.1 million interactions and increasing brand mentions by 2300%.

Branding Review from Shira S
We partnered with Agency Squid to refine and elevate our brand identity for a SaaS platform in the B2B space. Operating in a competitive landscape, we needed strong positioning, messaging clarity, and a compelling visual presence to stand out.
From the very beginning, the Agency Squid team demonstrated a deep understanding of our market, challenges, and goals. They asked the right questions, offered valuable strategic insights, and walked us through a structured branding process that was both collaborative and efficient.
The outcome was a refreshed brand strategy that clearly communicates our core value, differentiators, and relevance to our target audience. We received high-impact messaging frameworks and creative assets that are now integrated into our website, sales materials, and marketing campaigns.

This branding work has already improved our sales conversations, marketing performance, and overall brand perception. It was a seamless and professional experience, and were excited to continue working with Agency Squid in the future.

Agency Squid is truly unlike any other ad agency out there. There is no ego involved and they listen to what their clients needs are while still challenging them to think about things differently. The smaller but mighty team is well rounded and each bring a different perspective to the table. I would recommend them for any design/marketing, product promotion or special project. Doesn’t hurt that their workplace is so cool too!

Allyson Burroughs
Vice President, Brand, Digital, and Communications at Ricoh North America
5.0★
Integrated Marketing Review from Allyson Burroughs
I had the pleasure of working with Modo Modo Agency in 2022, when I was responsible for the complete renovation of Ricoh North America's brand narrative and visual design system, across all channels and all audiences. There were three immediately necessary elements - 1) internal communications materials about the overhaul of the brand narrative in order to build trust and enthusiasm internally for the new strategic direction of the company, 2) recruitment marketing assets to attract new talent to the organization very rapidly, and 3) go-to-market assets for multiple vertical industries where Ricoh was strategically focused on specific levels of growth.
Modo Modo Agency helped me lead the charge by generating extremely valuable internal communications materials, visual design system assets, manager and leadership guides and more to help with evangelizing internally the evolved brand narrative and the new strategic plan set forth by the CEO. They also created a significant number recruitment marketing assets for a number of digital channels to help build excitement around the brand, attract talent, and encourage employment applications for the significant number of open positions the company needed to fill. Lastly, we worked closely on GTM initiatives across paid and owned channels for the specific vertical industries Ricoh had identified in their strategic growth plan.
The team is strategic, focused on meeting business objectives, and delivering on the critical KPIs of each program. Modo Modo Agency stepped in quickly, delivered smart, well-executed, and effective assets for all the audiences and channels we needed to address. I would enthusiastically recommend them and would most definitely hire them again.

This is our first year at Peach Bowl, Inc. working with Modo Modo. In fact, we're literally months into our business relationship.
I'll be able to provide a more thorough review later, but we have found Modo Modo to be an intensely engaged agency. They have very talented people in the design chairs and the account management team. They've been extremely responsive in terms of learning how we like to work, and reacting accordingly.
We made the decision to leave one agency and sign on with Modo Modo, and the best thing I can say at this point is that we are not disappointed in our decision. We've seen and are expecting top-shelf work from them.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Jeff Swartz recently, and I couldn't be more impressed with Ethic’s level of professionalism and dedication to their clients. From the moment I reached out to them, I knew I was in good hands.
What sets Ethic Advertising apart is their genuine willingness to listen and understand the unique needs of your business. They don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions; instead, they take the time to customize their marketing strategies to perfectly fit your goals and objectives.
I highly recommend Ethic Advertising for your marketing needs. Their stellar reputation is well-deserved, and I look forward to our partnership in the future.

Greg Leach's Review Sourced from Google
We talked to numerous marketing firms across the US and most were either inept or wouldn’t talk to us because we’re a startup.
When I initially contacted Ethic, I was so used to having a bad experience with other marketing firms, I bluntly said “we’re a startup that needs a lot of help with brand recognition, but we’re on a very limited budget. Can you help?”. The owner Jeff said “let’s talk”. We spent the next hour discussing our business operation and different marketing strategies. We then had a follow up call in which Jeff came prepared with a full presentation and spent the afternoon explaining each line item step by step of how to execute our short term marketing goals. He did all this on his own time for nothing in return. We do not have an agreement in place and there's no guarantee of future business when working with a startup.
I can't thank Jeff and the Ethic team enough. They will be our “go to” for all our future marketing needs but it's not because of the free time they gave us, but rather their level of expertise. Our company launched service in January 2023 and currently has 400 app downloads. I will give a follow up review in one year to showcase the value of this experience. If you’re looking for a high level marketing company contact Ethic.

I feel like they are the best "hub" to go to when it comes to connecting to people, non-profits, for-profits, public officials, all communities, I really can just sit here and list things off my head for a long time. It really is amazing how rooted they are in the city of Houston and beyond. Strongly recommend for you or your organization to reach out to Outreach Strategists. It still amazes me how creative they can be when it comes to almost anything. I know that sounds so broad, but that is how knowledgeable the people are here. If you need to connect to people or the public, they will get you connected.

The Outreach Strategists provided excellent graphic, social media and website support for our recent virtual health conference. Their work was done in a timely manner and with total professionalism. I would recommend them highly for technical support for events like ours.

What a great experience working with Tegan! The team is full of kind professionals who have been a joy to work with during the creation of a brand new website for a new institution. The website looks fantastic! Our staff is so pleased that we will continue working with them on our future design, hosting, and creative needs. Special thanks for John and Laura for making the website such a successful moment in our history and for being a dream team!

The team at Tegan is the best I’ve worked with in the industry. They provide professional, cutting edge ideas and are passionate about what they do. From design to development, my client's website was flawlessly executed. They recently moved their offices from Plano to Addison which added to the drive during face-to-face meetings but the employees of Tegan have always been flexible regarding scheduling meetings, calls, and video conferences.

What should you consider before contacting advertising agencies?
Before contacting ad agencies, you must define your priority business objectives, success metrics, ad spend limit, expected timeline, internal decision-maker, and available resources.
Without that foundation, agencies will make different assumptions, which can make proposals difficult to compare and lead you to hire agencies for the wrong problem.
With 71% of CMOs reporting that they lack the budget to fully execute their strategy, it is vital to distinguish between "must-have" and "nice-to-have" campaign features before the first discovery call.
When should you hire a specialist advertising agency vs. a full-service digital marketing agency?
Hire a specialist advertising agency when you are experiencing issues with paid media execution and results. Conversely, hire a full-service digital marketing agency when the larger problem is coordination across channels, brand, content, and web.
Consider specialized ad agencies when:
Paid search, paid social, or media buying is your growth lever, but performance is inconsistent.
You already have brand, web, and content support in-house.
You need faster testing, tighter optimization, and deep platform expertise (e.g., Google Ads and paid media).
Consider full-service digital marketing agencies when:
Your message, funnel, creative, and channel mix need to work together.
You want one partner for different marketing services, such as social media, search engine optimization, email marketing, and performance marketing.
The primary issue is fragmented execution and not just ad performance.
How much should you realistically budget for advertising?
A realistic advertising budget typically ranges from 5% to 15% of your total annual revenue, depending on your growth stage and industry competitiveness.
For example, small businesses typically dedicate 2%-4% of their revenue to PPC advertising, with aggressive, growth-stage organizations typically spending more.
As a market benchmark, Gartner's 2025 CMO Spend Survey found CMOs reporting marketing budgets at 7.7% of company revenue and paid online channels accounting for 69% of digital spend.
The practical takeaway is to ask each shortlisted agency for a minimum viable testing budget by channel, then reject plans that cannot generate enough volume to prove or disprove the strategy.
How should you measure the success of your advertising campaigns?
Measure the success of your advertising campaigns by tracking bottom-line outcomes.
For lead generation campaigns, success metrics may include qualified leads, cost per sales-qualified lead, close rate by source, and pipeline contribution.
For eCommerce brands, success metrics to consider include customer acquisition cost, contribution margin, repeat purchase behavior, and return on ad spend (ROAS).
While platform metrics, such as click-through rate (CTR) and cost per click (CPC), are valuable, consider these as diagnostic metrics rather than success metrics.
How long does it take to see the results of your advertising campaigns?
Advertising campaigns may produce results within a few weeks or days. However, sustained ad performance may take 1-3+ months.
Typically, ad agencies dedicate the first 30 days to campaign ramp-up, data gathering, experimentation, testing, and conversion lag.
Then, they allot days 31-60 for campaign optimization. After 90 days from the campaign launch, you may record tangible outcomes, such as increased leads, higher ticket sales, and revenue growth.
The actual timeline before you see results will depend on current performance, ad channel, ad quality, target niche, industry competition, and the aggressiveness of your advertising campaign.
What common mistakes do businesses make when choosing their ad agencies?
Common mistakes include choosing based on the lowest hourly rates, being overly influenced by the pitch, and failing to confirm ownership of accounts, data, and reporting.
To avoid these mistakes, look for data-backed case studies that match your industry, market niche, and campaign type.
Also, review client feedback and request client references to better understand the agency's project management style, account ownership practices, reporting standards, and approach to campaign optimization.
