All I have to say is that this is the last email I sent to them:
“Hi Jason and Natalia,
We are writing to formally notify you that we will not be continuing marketing services beyond December. December is the final month for which payment has been made, and no additional payments will be issued after that time.
To be direct, we are extremely disappointed in the continued decline in service, execution, and accountability over the past several months. Despite investing close to $20,000, the value delivered has not come close to justifying the spend. November and December in particular were especially frustrating, especially after we discussed, in person, an opportunity to correct course earlier this month. That opportunity was not taken.
From the beginning, we were clear that we were seeking hands-on, in-house–style marketing support. When we needed that level of involvement most, it was not there. The growing gap between what was promised and what was delivered became impossible to ignore.
Execution delays were a persistent issue. Tasks that we needed completed weeks earlier routinely took far longer than expected, and even basic deliverables required multiple revisions. Rather than reducing workload and friction, the process consistently added to it. That is not the outcome we hired a marketing team to deliver.
Budget management was another point of disappointment. With an agreed monthly budget of $2,000–$3,000, it was frustrating to repeatedly be told that essential components of execution fell outside of that scope. From our perspective, this felt less like strategic planning and more like nickel-and-diming.
We are also disappointed that our explicit direction to focus marketing efforts on memberships and core modalities was not followed. Instead, marketing efforts continued to center around my personal services, despite us being very clear from day one that this was exactly what we were trying to move away from. This was not a misunderstanding; it was a core directive that was repeatedly missed.
Overall, this experience has been a significant letdown. We expected to work with a professional team that could take ownership, move with urgency, and operate as a true extension of our business. That expectation was not met.
We do not need an explanation or rebuttal. The past five months speak for themselves. Had the level of service from the first one to two months been maintained, this message would not be necessary. For these reasons, we will not be continuing services into the new year.
Please confirm receipt of this message and that no further invoices will be issued beyond December.
We wish you both the best moving forward.”
