Robin Lindsey conducted an Academy session for the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce. The subject was "Communication and Emotional Intelligence" It was about the importance of having a balance of IQ and EQ. This was an interactive session and everyone really enjoyed it. This is learning in a fun, informative and interactive way that people remember. Robin is easy to listen to and her sessions are always enjoyable. It was the last session of the year and a great one to finish on. Thank you Robin I look forward to working with you in 2014. Julie Crayne. Ali from Aleph Website designed logo for my music label - Kamidana Records. Although my notes and requirements were obscure, he managed to pull out the most out of it and deliver exactly what I needed. Also he presented me the proposal for the website and I fell in love instantly with the design. Can't wait to have it delivered. I am enclosing to you logo design. There are so many details that perfectly fit my requirements and story that match the background of the label, therefore it doesn't make much sense to put it all here. However I will enclose the logo here. I am absolutely sure you will be pleased with the whole end that Aleph website will deliver you as much as I am.

Unprofessional. I was contacted by a woman named Avrl L. via text message regarding a position I applied for. She texted back LATE, which I thought was unusual, but I accepted meeting her on Teams the next morning. I took time out of my schedule, had the meeting, I thought it went well, she said she wanted to proceed with sending the company my resume, that she'd email me an application within 2 hours that I had to fill out "ASAP". I got nothing all day, I checked in, no response. She completely ghosted me. Why do people feel it's ok to waste applicants time like this?? Its cruel and heartless as some of us are truly looking for work. Don't like the candidate? Just say it, but dont give false hope and lie to our face, then blow us off. If I could give zero stars, I would.

If I could give no stars, I would. There was absolutely no follow-up, no courtesy in acknowledging my resume, no answers to my questions, and no effort to be helpful at all. I don’t understand it. This is the most unprofessional staffing agency I have ever dealt with. Don’t expect much from them — they are clearly not in the business of actually filling jobs.

From our very first conversation, Maryssa demonstrated a deep understanding of both the industry and what I was looking for in my next role. She was incredibly attentive, responsive, and genuinely supportive every step of the way. Thanks to her expert guidance and dedication, I landed an incredible opportunity that aligns perfectly with my skills, goals, and values. Maryssa was not only a fantastic recruiter but also a true advocate, ensuring I felt confident and prepared throughout the entire process. If you're looking for someone who truly goes above and beyond to help you reach your career goals, look no further than Maryssa. I’m beyond grateful for her support and would absolutely work with her again in the future!

Terri has been an incredible SmartPA assistant for our family over the past 18 months. Her support has been invaluable in managing our busy work and home administrative tasks. Throughout our travels across Europe, the US, and Canada, as well as during our recent move to a new house and country, Terri has been there for us every step of the way. In particular, I have appreciated that Terri has used great judgment in assessing options on all fronts and hasn't just gone for the easy road of blindly following orders. I have trusted her as a "second me" and that has been so helpful. We couldn't have done any of this without her!

Long overdue review but I worked with Sheri Sakin and my experience was subpar in comparison to other temp agencies in NYC. She was very pushy in trying to get me to leave my job for another job. Ultimately, I got hired under a temp to perm position, but the perm aspect never came after 11 months of working there with no bad reviews. There was very poor communication with me on that. There was never a check in to see how I was doing while in the job. I was placed in a toxic, prejudice, environment. After getting abruptly let go bc they "did not have the budget" to make me a full-time hire, Sheri sent me two other interviews and when those companies decided to hire internally, or just not get back to me, she blamed ME lol. Saying my confidence on the interviews wasn't there (untrue), andthen I wasn't sent anymore jobs. I am currently happily employed (this was a year ago) as a full-time hire by my own merit but it's been on my spirit to write an honest review about my experience with Solomon Page. Again, I have worked with other agencies and they were much more caring than this seemed. It's like once they drop you at a job there's no follow up to see if it's a good fit.

I had an unprofessional experience with Solomon Page during my application for a senior property manager position. The recruiters were aggressive, questioned my extensive real estate experience and educational background, and talked over me during interviews. The process was disorganized, with multiple unnecessary Zoom interviews, and after four interviews, I was rejected via a brief text message. Additionally, the recruiter was uninterested in hearing about my experience or criteria for my next employer, focusing instead on promoting the employer without providing details about the benefits package. Too many years of the industry, I was able to find out a lot of different Different information about the employer, all such as their delinquencies their poor management of funds whenever I poked at this information and try to get a more clear answer of what was happening with the employer on the previous employee that had lasted only eight months there everything was very cagie. Overall, the process was disrespectful and poorly managed. Felt like talking to used cards salesz

Some of the people who work there are racists, ageists and subscribe to cronyism. From Mitch the owner to the workers/assignment managers like Karen and Natalie. They are the worst. They don't care about their employees. They only care about their clients, period. I got injured on one of the jobs that they assigned me and these people suggested that I file for Medicaid and go to the hospital. No help or concern whatsoever. After that, I wasn't given any other assignments. I was told that there were no assignments available even though there were other employees who were getting two to three different assignments at a time - working from home, etc. If you are a minority, don't bother. If you get anything, it will be janitorial, regardless of whether you have a college degree or not. These people are horrible. Don't use them!!!

The people that work at this Staffing Agency are the most useless, prejudice and unprofessional bunch out there. They lie to you to get you to register with them by promising you a lot of jobs and then once you register with them, they tell you nothing is available. I spent 12 months reaching out to them for assignments to no avail. All I got were lies. Obviously, they use your information to get more business, by getting more employers to sign up with them. They only give the good assignments to very few cronies, that’s it. Their minority recruitment is almost nonexistent. They are horrible and prejudiced from the Director(Karen, including her associates Natalie and Cindy) on down. They are a waste of time. Look elsewhere.

I have connected with this company a handful of times over the last few years regarding contract opportunities with [Nike] and consistently have a poor experience. There seems to be a lack of business etiquette from the recruiters here as calls are being made to candidates as early as 6a without prior scheduling. If you are an individual looking to contract with [Nike] or any company on the west coast, I highly encourage prospective candidates to partner with a local staffing agency who can offer a more tailored service.

So I've been searching for employment since late August and at this point I've expanded my search and have been applying for just about every job: both under qualified and over, leaving me vulnerable to shady domestic and overseas contractors. This company off the bat, asking for my DOB and last four of social security seems shady as hell and surprised it has so many 5 stars 🤨

Recruiting Agency Hiring Guide

What is a recruiting agency?

A recruiting agency is an agency that acts as a mediator between employers and job seekers, streamlining the recruitment process and ensuring a smooth match between candidates and organizations. It has access to top-tier talent, helping businesses address common challenges in their organizations, such as:

  • Shortages of internal or onshore talents
  • High turnover rates
  • Lack of internal resources to kickstart recruitment activities
  • Inadequate funds to advertise job posts
  • Ineffective onboarding processes
  • Lack of dedicated teams and time to streamline recruitment
  • Poor employer branding and presence in social media

Recruiting companies are an essential addition to any business because hiring the right talent can be expensive and time-consuming. By working with a recruiting agency, hiring employees becomes time and cost-efficient, as emphasized by the 97% satisfaction rate of businesses that have outsourced their recruitment processes. In-house HR teams can also use a recruitment company to get both the best value and best candidates, therefore gaining a competitive edge on the market.

Success story

Our team of experts has carefully selected this case study highlighting the importance of a recruiting agency to businesses:

  • Challenge: A pet resort company faced difficulty finding qualified candidates for various specialized roles, as it grew its business. With 52 locations open for 7 days a week in the summer, the business needed to fill and manage 2,000 seasonal employees for all its locations.
  • Solutions: NXTThing tailored its approach to meet the company’s specific needs, including sourcing for specialized roles, managing seasonal staffing, and creating a positive candidate experience. Using Jobvite’s technology, the recruiting firm implemented automated sourcing, candidate skill matching, and intelligent messaging to speed up the hiring process.
  • Result: The company successfully scaled its recruiting operations across multiple locations and effectively managed seasonal staffing fluctuations. With the help of NXTThing, the pet resort company has sourced 84,912 candidates and interviewed 19,637 applicants via phone call. The recruiting firm contributed to the 1,766 new hires made across the pet resort company.

What do recruiting agencies do?

Recruiting agencies help businesses find and hire suitable candidates for job openings. They function as a bridge between employers and job seekers. Recruiting firms have access to a wide pool of candidates, from entry-level to experienced professionals, and they match these individuals with open positions based on their qualifications and the job’s requirements.

Here are some of the services they offer:

  • Sourcing candidates
Source potential candidates through a variety of methods, including job boards, social media, referrals, and their own networks, to identify potential candidates
  • Screening candidates
Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and sometimes administer assessments to evaluate the candidates’ skills, abilities, and cultural fit
  • Presenting candidates
Present qualified candidates to employers and provide information about their skills, experience, and salary expectations
  • Negotiating compensation
Negotiate salary and benefits packages on behalf of candidates
  • Onboarding
Assist with the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires
  • Market research
Research to understand market trends, industry demands, and salary benchmarks
  • Employer branding
Help employers develop and promote a strong employer brand to attract top talent

Success story

This case study for Softorino demonstrates the importance of a recruiting agency's market research services in recruiting the right talent for the role:

  • Challenge: Softorino, an indie software company, had a hard time finding a digital marketing specialist. It wanted a person with deep digital marketing tools knowledge, strong content writing abilities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in macOS and iOS technologies.
  • Solutions: Outstaff Your Team took over the recruiting process by understanding Softorino’s specific needs first. Through meticulous market research, the recruiting agency identified potential candidates who met the criteria and reached out to them. It designed and administrated custom assignments to assess the candidates’ skills and suitability for the role. Outstaff Your Team then presented the top performers to Softorino for final interviews.
  • Result: The recruitment process resulted in a high-quality hire within 15 days. The hired specialist perfectly matched Softorino’s requirements, leading to a successful partnership. Impressed by the results, Softorino plans to continue working with Outstaff Your Team for future staffing needs.

What is the difference between talent acquisition and recruitment?

The difference between talent acquisition and recruitment is in their scope. While recruitment involves hiring people for open positions in a business or organization, talent acquisition concerns blanket strategy, encompassing the entire process of attracting and retaining top talent.

Here is a table to further illustrate their differences:

Recruitment Talent acquisition
Focused on filling specific vacancies  Broader approach encompassing talent attraction, development, and retention
Short-term  Long-term
Strategy is often transactional  Focused on building a sustainable talent pipeline
Posting job ads, screening resumes, interviewing, and making offers  Prioritized building a strong employer brand to attract top talent
Often operating externally and outside the business’ recruitment strategy  Aligns with organizational goals and culture
Primarily focused on time-to-hire and cost-per-hire  Tracks various metrics, including employee satisfaction, retention, and performance
Uses basic tools like applicant tracking systems (ATS)  Leverages advanced technologies like candidate relationship management (CRM) systems and data analytics

How much do recruiting firms charge for their services?

Recruiting firms charge a flat monthly fee from $5,000 to $30,000, depending on the role complexity, urgency of the hire, location, and state of the job market. This pricing can include sourcing, screening, performing assessments, and interviewing.

There are common types of pricing structures that recruiting agencies deploy, such as:

Type of recruitment fees Price
Hourly fees $75-$250/hour
Retainer fees 25% to 40% of the candidate’s annual salary
Contingency fees 15% to 25% of the candidate’s annual salary
Contract placement fees 1.5x the hourly rate of the contracted employee

On DesignRush, the top 50 recruiting agencies charge an average of $52/hour. 13.8% of recruiting firms accept projects with a budget of under $1,000, offering core recruitment services. On the other hand, 1.7% of recruiting agencies require projects within a budget over $50,000, offering a wider scope of services from sourcing to post-hiring support.

Why should I hire a recruiting agency?

You should hire a recruiting agency because it brings specialized expertise, a wider talent pool, and efficiency to the hiring process. These agencies can save time and resources, provide industry insights, and help negotiate fair compensation packages.

Moreover, you should hire a recruiting agency because it:

  • Has access to a wider talent pool
  • Provides extensive industry insights and salary benchmarks
  • Increases hiring speed without compromising quality of hire
  • Can connect you with passive candidates
  • Improves your business reputation and credibility to applicants
  • Helps reduce the risk of hiring the wrong candidate

Success story

To further emphasize the benefits of hiring a recruiting agency, we have chosen the case study of a leading automotive manufacturer, which showcases the positive outcomes of outsourcing recruitment to a reputable firm:

  • Challenge: The client, a major North American automotive manufacturer, struggled with fluctuating production demands, supply chain disruptions, and a limited talent pool. Because of the client’s rural locations and widespread labor shortages, it further made it difficult to hire an available workforce.
  • Solution: Aerotek implemented several strategic solutions to tackle the challenge. It conducted a thorough local market analysis to provide the client with valuable insights into labor conditions and potential hiring strategies. The recruiting agency used its extensive network of strategic recruiting centers to efficiently source and vet qualified candidates. It also implemented a vendor on-premises program, placing a dedicated representative at the jobsite to manage contractors and address any concerns.
  • Results: The company successfully onboarded over 71 new hires, with a high retention rate of 83% or higher. The improved workforce stability enabled the client to adapt to production delays and sudden increases in demand.

How do I choose the best recruiting firm for my business?

To choose the best recruiting firm for your business, follow these steps:

  1. Define your needs
Clearly articulate your hiring needs, including the role, industry, experience level, and location. Determine the number of positions you need to fill and identify any specific skills, qualifications, or certifications that are essential.
  2. Set a budget
Establish a budget for your recruiting efforts. Consider factors, such as the number of positions, industry, location, and the level of service required.
  3. Research recruiting firms
Identify potential recruiting firms that specialize in your industry or have experience with similar roles. You can use popular search engines like Google, or online directories like DesignRush.
  4. Evaluate firm size and specialization
Determine if you prefer a large, national firm or a smaller, boutique recruiting agency. Consider whether the firm specializes in your industry or has experience hiring similar roles. A specialized recruiting firm may have a deeper understanding of your industry and be better equipped to find the right candidates.
  5. Review firm reputation
Check the firm’s online reputation and read client reviews or testimonials. Look for any complaints or negative feedback. Consider asking for references from previous clients. A recruiting agency with a strong reputation and positive reviews is more likely to provide quality service.
  6. Assess firm services
Determine the range of services offered by the recruiting firm, such as sourcing, screening, interviewing, and negotiation. Ensure that the agency’s services align with your specific needs. Some firms may specialize in certain areas, while others offer a more comprehensive range of services.
  7. Shortlist selected agencies
Narrow your options to five agencies that can cater to your project. Send a request for proposal (RFP) to outline the needs of the partnership.
  8. Understand pricing structure
Inquire about the recruiting firm’s fee structure, including contingency fees, retainer fees, or hourly rates. Compare the fees of different firms to find the best value for your money.
  9. Interview recruiting firms
Schedule interviews with potential recruiting agencies to learn more about their approach and experience. Ask about their recruiting process, candidate sourcing methods, and success rates. This will help you assess if the agency is a good fit for your company and if it has the expertise to meet your hiring needs.
  10. Evaluate the firm’s culture and values
Assess if the agency’s culture and values align with your culture and goals. A recruiting agency that shares your company's values is more likely to understand your needs and find candidates who are a good fit for your organization.
  11. Select the recruiting agency fit for your business
Select the right recruiting agency for your business and negotiate the terms of the agreement, including fees, timelines, and performance expectations. Ensure that the agreement is in writing and clearly outlines the scope of services and deliverables.
