Kyma Logo Design Hides the Retail Company’s USP in Plain Sight
As a retail company that sells a wide array of kitchen and household goods and appliances, Kyma’s primary mission is to create a foundation for comfortable and prosperous home life - for everyone. Achieving this mission through time and tested quality, clear and simple things needed in every home, the brand required a logo design that reflects it right from the get-go.
When creating the Kyma logo, Serhii Shakh based their visual identity on the aforementioned goal – reflecting the brand philosophy of comfort and simplicity of things.
While straightforward and uncomplicated the custom, sans-serif typography reveals a multilayered meaning. The only element that stands out from the pleasant typeface is the letter “Y” whose descender conveniently makes the symbolic house roof.
This subtle detail presents Kyma as the go-to company for elevating your comfort and coziness.

Kyma’s Color Scheme Symbolizes Home Comfort, Balance and Tranquility
Kyma’s whole visual identity is based on a yellow color, which besides usual associations with happiness, warmth and sunshine, unites all three into – home comfort. The characteristics of the yellow sun and its effects are well-known in color psychology and Serhii Shakh demonstrated excellence in this field.
The logo itself is rarely yellow (except in some special cases). It is grey. While this particular tint doesn’t call to mind sunshine and rainbows, its choice is also well thought through. In fact, as a midpoint between white and black, grey represents neutrality and balance. When surrounded by ample warm tones of yellow... You do the math - It’s a home run (pun intended).
This showcases how logo designers carefully consider color choices to create meaningful and balanced brand identities!

Most branding agencies go for a stripped-back look to convey a sense of sophistication and refinement. Besides the appealing logo design, Serhi Shaakh created a slew of minimalistic illustrations (based on Kyma’s wide range of products) done in the style of engineering drawings. This way, the brand subtly positions itself as an integral part of, or rather, the last stage of interior design – turning your property into a home.
While 2D, as is customary with general minimalistic tendencies, these illustrations, or objects, act as pillars that hold the roof above your head, while being mostly taken for granted. Even the choice of purchasing these, basic as it may look, is intrinsically reflective of your style.
