We were introduced to KDG back in October 2024. They were recommended by a sister company of ours. Our goal was to transition from multiple programs to one program to help streamline and automate as many processes as possible. I wanted to reach out and personally thank Brown Edwards! Specifically Bradley. I recently lost my mother, father and brother and inherited some money and investments. Me, being a scared 20 something year old grieving the loss of my family, reached out to my financial advisor who told me brown edwards could help me. He notified me in advanced of the expensive cost of their services but I was more than willing to pay the price to have peace of mind and the help of experts. I called brown edwards and was transferred to Bradley P. We discussed the cost and I notified him I was more than willing to pay that price. Bradley laughed and kindly notified me that they typically only handle the “top of the top in Roanoke”and said i could be better served by a company that rhymes with “hr clock”. So, I contacted that company and guess what? The man I spoke with actually used to work for Brown Edwards! He left his position there to travel the world and Spend time with his family, And he was able to help me and my silly step up in basis concerns, at only a fraction of the cost! So I personally would love to thank Bradley for laughing in the face of a scared young woman who lost each and every one of her immediate family members, for making me cry when I was at my lowest, and recommending a different company. I will also add the receptionist was 10/10 she was very sweet and apologized on his behalf

ORBA did my taxes last year, charged an absolutely ludicrous amount for a tax return and basic "financial planning", and still somehow got the state tax return wrong (the state sent me an unexpected refund a year later). Their financial planning included advice like "sell the stock that vests in September 2021 to generate income for this purchase in March 2021". They probably charge so much because they've mastered time travel. I had a CPA before them who did a better job for 15% of the cost.

As an accounting firm I would give them 1 star. I recently discovered a litany of deductions they failed to consider. You will be given an EA, which is just a glorified tax preparer. They will know nothing and be slow to reply. You might as well get your taxes done by H&R block or a proper independent CPA. If these folks do your taxes, get prepared for a larger tax bill. I strongly advise against it.

This firm is parasitic and useless. Terrible service. If they didn’t exist, the world would be a better place. They are rude, incompetent, and exist only to stick their blood funnel in to anything that smells like money. They have no concept of serving their clients; if you are forced by a family court to sign their engagement letter, they only serve themselves. Abject greed and institutionalized theft. They add zero value. It took six months to get them to process a QDRO that was supposed to be made within 30 days. They then used the last four digits of my ex-wife’s SSN on their password protected draft order. Why would I know that? Again, these are not nice people. Do not retain if you can avoid them. They seem to be part of the parasitic ecosystem around family courts and divorce proceedings; they do not add any value at all. Just another leech profiting from other people’s pain. They are a net drag on everything. They should not exist.

My wife and I used this firm to prepare our taxes one year on a family recommendation and they were a total joke. We had to send back our taxes twice because they couldn't even get our names right the first time, and the second time they didn't get our Social Security Numbers right. Given the fact that we sent them our previous two years of returns with our names and SSNs correctly printed all over the returns, it's astounding that such basic errors happened. Who knows what other errors were on that year's returns... On top of that they charged $500 for a very basic return and basically required us to fill out all the boxes on our forms instead of taking all the forms and preparing the taxes. We had to spoon feed them everything and basically did our taxes ourselves. Suffice it to say we never used them again after that.

EIDE BAILLY CHARGED ME $1,325.00 FOR A STANDARD TAX RETURN!!! I had been using Eide Bailly since I graduated college a few years ago. David Frank was always the guy I dealt with, and it was always expensive, and never impressive. I would have to pay about $600 if I recall for a standard tax return in the past. PLUS I would call with what seemed like a simple question during the year and he would "need to check". After hours passed he would call back with an answer and a bill would sometimes follow for something like $100. In April 2012 David Frank did my taxes as usual, but when the bill came it was for $1,325.00 !!!!!! I was shocked, he said it was because I had got married in 2012 and he "HAD TO CALL" ANOTHER GUY AT ANOTHER EIDE BAILLY IN MINNEAPOLIS, MN TO BE SURE THAT DID NOT REQUIRE SPECIAL CONSIDERATION ON THE TAX RETURN... AND HE BILLED FOR HOURS OF TALK TIME *TIMES* 2 PEOPLE. And the answer was **NO THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE TAX RETURN!!** IT WAS A WASTED CALL!! And they billed my and my new wife $1,325.00!! Do you know how much that is to a couple newly weds!!! I asked David if he felt that was fair, and he said YES!!!

I had no idea that I was missing out on tax refunds from previous years that I was entitled to until I talked with Steve Warren at SDK! On a chance meeting with Steve, following disappointing results with a former accountancy firm, I reached out to him. Steve confirmed that I should have received tax refunds from previous years. He "went to work" and proved to be helpful in explaining what needed to be done and with his diligence, research and smart ideas recovered one large refund check and is working on obtaining a second one for me - in short order! I am also working with Steve with both financial and non financial aspects of my estate plan that I am currently putting together. Steve has once again proven to be very knowledgeable, creative and invaluable in my estate planning. I feel fortunate to have "found him"!

I worked with nancy lehrman who works with SDK since the merger of SDK and Leherman Flom and Lehrman in handling my mothers estate, my grandmothers estate and my personal taxes. while handling my mothers estate she worked with lehrman flom and lerhman which was absorbed into sdk. The funny thing is I did not know this until long after fact. which is amusing considering the tens of thousands of dollars that I was paying to Nancy to handle closing the estates of both my mother and grandmother, you would have thunk that deserved a phone call or email, but I didn't get one, this is a reacurring theme with my experience with both Nancy and SDK. She mis filed my personal taxes for 2015 for the state of minnesota resulting in a fine that I had to pay, and went awol towards the end of 2016 through out 2017 while handling my grandmothers estate on both the state and federal level. My grandmothers estate could have been closed by the end of 2016/ early 2017. However, since Nancy completely abdicated her professional responsibilities the eventual closure of the estate did not happen until late winter spring 2018 close to two and a half year after my grandmother passed. I personally went through a difficult time. My family was small consisting of my mother, her sister, and my grandmother. within 13 months I lost both my mother and then my grandmother in that order and I was coming to the grips that at the age of 32 I was pretty much completely alone, without any family in my life. the ammount of work that I needed Nancy to do by the end of 2016 would have taken hours at the most. yet she did not complete this work until winter 2018, further delaying the closure during an extremely difficult time of my life. I am saying this because it is not about money, it is about transformation and trying to get over difficult times. yes I paid nancy a lot of money to handle my families business and yes I expect a certain amount of attention because I am spending that money. Thisis a completely reasonable expectation of a service. after receiving only 3 or 4 responses to countless phone calls and emails over a 18 month period of time I really started to get angry. the problem is Nancy doesn't care, SDK doesn't care, they will tell you that they are accountable and responsible until you shine a light on their fallacies. once that happens they will hide in their cave until you go away. I tried to air my grievances with a managing partner at sdk. I left many messages, never received a response. this is a symptom of a culture amongst this organization. If you are looking for dependable and responsible accountants to handle your financial affairs. I recommend you avoid SDK at all costs. since parting ways with nancy and sdk I went to Abdo EICK AND MEYERS LLP. My experience has been great. check them out.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Boyle, Deveny & Meyer. When I first met with their CPA, I was told my tax preparation fee would be about $100 more than what I paid my previous accountant. That seemed reasonable given that they are a larger firm. What I did not expect was a bill that was $725 higher than that estimate. I was never given a written quote or a fee schedule. This lack of transparency feels misleading at best and deceptive at worst. I sent a formal letter to Boyle, Deveny & Meyer expressing my concerns about their billing practices and received no response whatsoever. That kind of disregard for clients is unacceptable. In the end, I paid what I was quoted—last year’s fee plus $100—and they cashed the check without issue. I would strongly caution others to get everything in writing and be very careful when dealing with this firm.

I first contacted BDM on 1/17/2025 about doing my taxes. Two weeks later on 1/30/2025 I had a short conversation with an employee who asked me basic onboard info and he said that an accountant would reach out in 3 weeks to start my taxes. Today, on 2/18/2025 I received an email from the firm saying that they aren't taking on new clients and wishing me luck. This puts me in a difficult situation finding a new accountant this late into the season. It is also highly unprofessional to string me along for a full month just to tell me they aren' taking on new clients. So to recap: 1. 1/17/2025 I contact BDM. 2. 1/30/2025 BDM calls me to ask me basic onboard questions. I'm told that an accountant will reach out in 3 weeks to do my taxes. 3. 2/18/2025 I receive an email saying they're not taking on new clients, even though they told me last month they would. Find an accountant who respects your time, because this firm certainly does not.

I they do not care about their customers! I have been with them for over 40 years! I was just notified I was no longer wanted as a client. I called and text 3 people I knew there, asking why they were canceling my simple tax account. NO ANSWERES. Then a month later I got an email saying they were down sizing! Is this how you treat a loyal customer of over 40 years that does a simple tax return? I always relied on this company and the people in it. I feel so disrespected. I would never trust them again.

Computer technology has vastly improved many of our lives, even in the non-profit world. The issues are cost, reliability and maintenance. It is too much for a small business owner to become an expert in these areas. I'm not even sure it is possible. Having a partner - a paid vendor, yes, but a still a partner that respects your budget, responds quickly to problems as they arrive, and proactively seeks to protect your network from crashes and malware is invaluable. We feel like we have that partner with Whittlesey Technologies. Every year we meet to discuss vendor agreements and performance. Whittlesey Technologies has never been considered for replacement. They are our partner.

I came to this firm because my husband recently got into some legal trouble, being accused of stealing 1.6 million dollars from the state government. These allegations were obviously false but we still needed legal council, we came to HHM hearing that they were the best firm in Albuquerque and we were not disappointed. Our lawyer Kim Wexler was able to get us a plea deal for only 6 months as long as were returned "our" money.

My bookkeeper unfortunately referred me to Anastasi, Moore & Martin, PLLC. These guys did my taxes for 3 legal entities and It has been a terrible experience for me all the way through. I have had 3 other separate accountants inform me Anastasi, Moore & Martin, PLLC have filed my taxes for 3 of my company’s incorrectly. It will cost me thousands of dollars in IRS fees to amend the mistakes these guys made. 1.) Justin and Ryan do not inform you of how they are classifying your company with the IRS. In addition they DO NOT look at the secretary of state website to verify the type of legal entity you have established with the state for example they do not check who the members or managers are on the LLC or corporation, they do not check how your company is structured for example if you are a registered s-corp or c-corp, they just guess on it and try to file your taxes as fast as possible. 2.) They filed my corporation as a sole proprietorship when I told them it was a corporation and it obviously is a corporation if they took 2 seconds to look on the secretary of state website and the word Inc.-Incorporated is literally at the end of my company name. Then Justin lies to me over email and states: I told them to file my corporation as a sole proprietorship-which does NOT make sense because even if I did tell them to file my c-corp as a sole proprietorship that would not be legal or ethical to file a corporation as a sole proprietorship 3.) Justin and Ryan are both extremely unresponsive and when they do respond it’s with an attitude, they do not provide good customer service at all. Their secretary-Clara then sends my social security number over unsecured email to clarify if it is correct.
